Dog stolen from kennel

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a dog was stolen from its kennel while its owner was out at a funeral.

The four year old Jack Russell was taken on 17 January between 7.30am and 4pm from a farm in Lythe.

The animal is a well-known working dog in the area.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or who has any information is asked to call PC 705 Fiona Hawes of Whitby Police on 101.
