Lucy Bowes and Carol Baker, who raised over 300 for White Lily funds after a challenging cycle ride

Carol Baker and Lucy Bowes both cycled over 80 miles between them in aid of White Lily fund-raising.

The ride begins at Fylingthorpe Village Hall and makes use of the cinder tracks to Whitby, back to Ravenscar, on to Scalby and back to Ravenscar, up to the mast on the hill at Ravenscar and back to the village hall.

Carol completed the challenge in 4 hours 58 mins and Lucy in 4 hours 11 mins. Lucy also rode to the start from her home so completed 43 miles, 15 years to the day that her mother died at 43 – a mile per year of her life.

Carol and Lucy thank all the sponsors who helped to raise over £300, with Carol alone raising £225 for White Lily Funds which are divided between three hospices following the White Lily Ball on June 6 next year. Follow @lucyandsnudge on Twitter or www.facebook.com/TheWhiteLilyBall
