Blackpool date for Whitby's Felice
A TALENTED young Whitby hairdresser gained a chance to compete in a national finals competition to be held in Blackpool later this month.
Felice Beck (18) won her chance when she came second in a women's blow dry competition at area semi-finals held in Gateshead.
Felice is serving an apprenticeship with A and M Hair Design in Whitby and also attends Malton Academy to study hairdressing for one day a week.
A and M Hair Design proprietor Amanda Coates, who owns the business with Andrea Smith, said: "Felice is in the first year of her apprenticeship and she was up against 38 competitors so she did really well to come second.
"She also came equal fifth in creating a style suitable for evening and as she was competing against others who had up to three years' experience it was absolutely brilliant for her to get that far although it hasn't qualified her to compete in that class at Blackpool."
Melanie Storr acted as Felice's model at the competition.
Felice's second place win for blow drying means she has a chance to become a national champion when she competes at Blackpool later this month.
