Black Horse revellers' boost for Runswick Bay lifeboat

A WHITBY pub played host to a night of music to raise funds for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat.

The Black Horse in Church Street was the venue for a performance from musicians Stuart Tonnar and Nick and Christine Scaife.

The styles on offer ranged from folk, country, music hall, blues and everything inbetween.

It was the third fund-raiser held for the boat in the Black Horse this year and this once raised in excess of 160 following generous donations from the public.

Nick and his wife Christine have been long time fundraisers for the rescue boat and have already raised over 900 this year alone.

Nick said: "The Runswick boat is an independent rescue service totally reliant on voluntary contributions but I never fail to be amazed by people's generosity towards it.

"The crew and committee do a fantastic job for the community in Runswick and we are very grateful to landlady Sue Rae for her support."
