A feast fit for a king...or queen

THE Queen has given her backing to a big lunch being held in Whitby this year to celebrate her diamond jubilee.

In a special message to the event organisers HRH sent her best wishes to “all of those who will be present for what I hope will be a most memorable and enjoyable event.

Sandra Smith of Esk Terrace is in charge of this year’s event taking place on the Fishburn Park estate.

She said: “To read the Queen’s kind words of suport is a wonderful boost to what promises to be a memorable day of celebration.”
