Having just read your excellent article on the Cinder Track I would like to point out that it is an excellent route for wheelchair and scooters users such as myself.

The Cinder Track between Whitby and Robin Hood’S Bay neatly divides into two roughly equal sections of three miles, with Hawsker being the midway point.

By using the X93 bus either section can be done either as a three mile one way route or, for powered wheelchair users or superfit manual wheelchair users, as a six-mile out and back run.

Scarborough Borough Council has just regraded the Hawsker to Robin Hood’s Bay section making for a super smooth surface.

As there are seven million disabled people with mobility issues in England with 1.2 million having NHS wheelchairs, there are plenty of us who appreciate the opportunity to get out (onto routes like the Cinder Track) and explore the area in which we live.
