A Whitby man jumped to his death from the town’s viaduct, an inquest has been told.

The Deputy North Yorkshire East Coroner, John Broadbridge, recorded a verdict that Paul John Dennis, a 48 year-old self employed e-Bay dealer, of Langdale Terrace, Whitby, killed himself.

The coroner was told at the hearing at Scarborough Town Hall that Mr Dennis had been seen to go over the viaduct off Larpool Lane.

Mr Broadbridge, giving his verdict, said that Mr Dennis had had relationship problems.

He had fallen from the viaduct near Captain Cook’s Haven.
