IT has been a while since she has graced our TV screens but Whitby’s favourite Scouser Tricia Penrose still remains close to the district’s hearts despite Heartbeat’s final scenes being shot nearly two years ago.
The honorary Yorkshire lass shot to fame playing barmaid Gina Ward in the fictional village of Aidensfield and became synonymous with cheeky wit and a dash of glamour in the long-running police series.
While filming Heartbeat she also appeared in BBC1’s Comic Relief Does Fame Academy as well as Celebrity MasterChef.
Still with a burning passion to sing, that will have to remain on the backburner for a little while longer as you’ll next see Tricia in a new daytime BBC1 drama, Justice, which should go on air next month.
But wherever her career path leads, 40-year-old Trish will always be remembered for her time in Heartbeat as well as her numerous appearances for charity in Whitby and district.
Editor Jon Stokoe caught up with her for this week’s In The Hotseat to talk Heartbeat ... and The Magpie Cafe.
