STAITHES residents have been thanked for their efforts in raising funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.
At Captain Cook Inn a combination of Easter egg raffles, sales of CDs by local artist Claire Walton and even landlord Trevor Readman dyeing his hair and beard pink has resulted in the pub raising a total of £613.13.
St Catherine’s Hospice’s Penny Campbell said: “The Captain Cook Inn and the people of Staithes are well-known for their regular and loyal support of the hospice.
“Everyone involved with the work of St Catherine’s is extremely grateful for their continued efforts to help us assist the care of people in their community.
“£4.5million is required this year and it’s our long-standing supporters who help the fund-raising team achieve this target.”
