Whitby’s health partnership has been shortlisted for three national awards.

The Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commissioning Group (HRW CCG) – which is responsible for buying healthcare in the local area - has made the shortlist in the Health Service Journal Awards 2014.

Over 500 organisations made 1,300 entries and the CCG is hoping for success in the Improved Partnerships between Health and Local Government category, Secondary Care Service Redesign category for the redesign of paediatric and maternity services at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

In addition, Clinical Chief Officer Dr Vicky Pleydell has been shortlisted in the Clinical Leader of the Year category.

David Williams, chairman of the CCG, said: “We are really pleased to have been shortlisted. Each is testament to the hard work of staff and partners – over the past year and our dedication to improving patient care. Just to have been shortlisted is a fantastic achievement in itself.”
