Motocross rider airlifted

A Motocross rider was airlifted to hospital on Sunday afternoon after falling around 20ft while attempting a jump.

The Great North Air Ambulance was called to the motocross event just outside of Whitby for a 45-year-old man. He was treated at the scene by the air ambulance doctor and had sustained head, chest and arm injuries. He was flown to James Cook Hospital and his condition was described as stable
