A public consultation meeting is set to take place to discuss the possibility of amalgamating Scarborough Hospital with York Foundation Trust.
Patrick Crowley, Chief Executive of York Hospital will be on hand to answer any questions that members of the public may have.
Leo McGrory, from the Scarborough Branch of North Yorkshire Local Involvement Network (LINk), said: “It’s still a proposal but there’s still an awful lot of questions to answer.”
The role of LINk is to learn the opinions of the local public and convey these to the relevant authorities.
Mr McGrory added: “It’s sad that finance could dictate health care.”
In addition to Mr Crowley, it is hoped that other representatives from Scarborough and York may attend.
The public meeting will be held at Scarborough Library on March 16 at 6.30pm.
