Fisherman taken ill at sea

THE Whitby lifeboat was called out to rescue a man who was part of a fishing party and had fallen ill.

The Sea Otter II had gone out at about 7.30am on Sunday and called the lifeboat for assistance after the man became poorly.

He was removed from the boat at about 9am and taken back to the boathouse where an ambulance was waiting to take him to hospital.

The Sea Otter II was about six miles north east of the harbour and it is thought the man was suffering from sea-sickness.
