A BUILDING belonging to the Girl Guides Association in Ainthorpe was given retrospective planning permission by the North York Moors National Park planning committee.
The building in Easton Lane, Ainthorpe on a site used exclusively by the Guides for camping accommodates ablutions and a composting toilet.
The application was made by Sue Sotheran of Yearby, Redcar.
The building is described as an amenity block and was described as a partially converted, partly new build wooden structure similar to a field shelter or stable block, of a form and character that planning officers said would be expected to be found in the location.
It replaced a similar building that had been on the site for some time.
There was a problem over light wells on the building that planning officers regarded as intrusive but discussions were under way with the applicant’s agent for simpler, more suitable lighting to be installed.
