Father and daughter Dennis Booth and Linden Boushall have raised £1500 for Marie Curie Cancer Care after completing the Great North Run together.

Dennis is a seasoned competitor at the annual event, having run it 24 times previously, while by stark contrast, it was Linden’s first ever half marathon.

“I really enjoyed it, it was a great experience,” said Linden, owner of Masons Fruiterer and Florist in Flowergate.

“My dad is already looking forward to next year’s run and I’m planning on joining him.”

Dennis added: “Marie Curie is a great cause and I’m pleased we’ve been able to help them out by raising these funds.”
