Hundreds of people turned out for a sun soaked event which celebrates the secrets of Dalby Forest.
Dalbyology, now in its sixth year, saw wildlife experts from across Yorkshire - including Matthew Halley from Whitby Falconry - descend on the beauty spot near Pickering on Sunday to explore different “ologies” such as ornithology, geology, and heliogy - the study of the sun. “The sun brought the people out and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves,” said volunteer Carol Robinson. “It was busier than it has been in previous years. Lots of people were outside getting involved in stream dipping, handling the birds of prey and looking at the very interesting discoveries from Star Carr.”
