A BRIGGSWATH girl will be treading the hallowed halls of Queen’s College next year after being accepted by Cambridge University.

Rebecca Bennion will be studying Natural Science at the college after achieving three A*s in Biology, Maths and Chemistry from Prior Pursglove College in Guisborough.

Rebecca said: “I’ve always wanted to study at Cambridge but I wasn’t expecting to even get an offer. Words can’t describe how happy I am right now.”

In addition, Devon Howard from Whitby completed his A levels last summer and had already received an unconditional offer to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Robert Grierson, vice principal of Prior Pursglove, said: “We are absolutely delighted that our students have once again managed to achieve places at Cambridge. It is highly competitive and a real testament to the hard work of the students and also the support that our fantastic staff provide.”

In the past five years Prior Pursglove has sent 19 students to Oxford and Cambridge.
