RECEPTIONIST Janet Croke retired on 18 February after working at Caedmon School for 23 years.

During the morning assembly she was presented with a bouquet of flowers by two year eight pupils and at break time she was presented with a card and gift from all the staff.

Assistant head teacher Mary Carter thanked Mrs Croke for all the patience and care she has given the pupils over the years.

She said: “The support she has given the teaching staff has been invaluable.

“Mrs Croke was also secretary of the Home and School Association for many years and at the last committee meeting she was presented with a card and gift and many of the past committee members attended to say goodbye to her.

“She will be missed by all at Caedmon and many members of staff have said that it will not be the same coming into school and not seeing her behind the desk in reception but they wish her a very long, healthy and happy retirement.”
