PUPILS at Seton School have proved their leadership potential by becoming junior sports leaders.
Since January, year five students Jack Sault, Maxx Hinchley, Aurora Lindley, Rhys Blacklock and Ryan Hambley have spent five weeks studying qualities and aspects of good leadership and how to use equipment.
Sessions have been led by PE teacher Nin Carvell and school sports coordinator Pete Woolley.
In a final assessment the students led year one pupils from the school in various sports activities and upon completing their training they all received certificates.
Pete Woolley said: “ The five leaders have done exceptionally well and during their final assessment displayed strong leadership qualities. As the summer months approach they will be given opportunities to lead various activities in the playground during breaks and lunchtimes.
“We run leadership courses right through all the schools now. When they get to Caedmon and Eskdale they will be able to do a bit more.”
