PUPILS at Eskdale School received awards, trophies and certificates at a recent awards ceremony.

The annual presentation evening acknowledges the pupils’ talents in certain subjects and was attended by parents, staff and students.

Mark Taylor, headteacher of Eskdale School, said: “We had a fantastic evening.

“This is probably the best year group we’ve had from Eskdale School and we wish them all the best.”

Awards included the Eskdale School Art Shield, won by Mia Hodgson, the Peter Straw Award for English, awarded to Sophie Miocevich, and the Rose Corner Award for English, handed to Bethany Clarkson.

Altogether 26 trophies, cups or shields and 99 subject certificates were given out to the highest-achieving students.

The 14 members of the school council were also each presented with an award as recognition of their contributions to the well-being and running of the school.

Awards were also handed out to sporting achievers, including Sports Leader Awards, Scarborough and District Colours, and County Colours.
