GREEN-FINGERED pupils from Eskdale School donned shoves and trowels for a project out of the classroom.

They were helping put the finishing touches to a project, which over recent months, has seen Ingham Play park at Sleights redeveloped.

The Eskdale Pupils were on hand to help out with some planting along with members of the gardening team from Scarborough Borough Council (SBC).

The trees and plants have been funded by lottery money and the council asked Eskdale pupils to help out.

Chris Roe, from the parks department, said: “It has been a good little project. In the autumn we had crocus planting with the primary school children and we have done the planting of the hedges with the older ones.”
