Course to help pupils with special needs

A CHARITY is organising a free course to help pupils with special needs which starts at the beginning of next month.

The Workers Educational Alliance (WEA) is holding the Helping Pupils with Special Educational Needs Course on Tuesdays from 9.15am to 2.45pm starting on Tuesday 3 May at East Whitby Community Primary School.

The accredited course will run for nine weeks an is open to parents and volunteers who have completed the WEA Helping In Schools course or another equivalent level 2 course.

Places on the course will be funded by WEA but participants will need to pay an accreditaion fee of £31.50.

A two hour per week placement volunteering in a local school is also a requirement for the course.
