the coastal defence works began in January this year after the council made a successful bid to the environment agency.
Expected to take five months, it is due to be completed this May and the workthat was about to commence was the last activity.
It has included repairing cracks in walls and protecting the sea walls with concrete.
Mr Bourne added the ‘much needed work’ will safeguard the structures which protect the village from the sea for years to come.
The damage will not increase the cost of the work.
