As part of Eskdale School’s careers programme, they welcomed film and television director, Bill Eagles, into school.

Bill is well-known in the industry for directing the 2000 film Beautiful Creatures starring Susan Lynch and Rachel Weisz and as a television director, his most recent credits include Gotham, The Mentalist and CSI.

He also directed the 2006 TV film Dracula starring Marc Warren.

Eskdale School careers co-ordinator Flo Sawer said: “As well as touring the school and talking to students in music, drama and technology, he gave a fascinating presentation to year eight students about how his career developed, as well how a scene is filmed and the range of opportunities in the film and TV industry. “He also answered questions including who is the most famous actor he has worked with, which is his favourite scene and what dangerous stunts has he directed. Students stayed behind to ask him more probing questions and to get his autograph.”

Bill was so impressed by what he saw in the music and drama departments that he offered the school the opportunity to work with him on creating a short drama film and the school looks forward to working with him.
