The family and friends of a Whitby landlord who died aged just 32 has handed over £2,000 to charity after taking part in the town’s Boxing Day dip in his memory.

Dad of two Matthew Randall who ran the Ship pub in St Ann’s Staith with wife Mel, passed away in September last year after a long illness.

Matthew suffered from Crohn’s disease, a chronic inflammatory disease of the intestines.

Recently Matthew’s family and friends gathered at the bandstand to present Crohn’s and Colitis UK with funds from the dip organised by Whitby andDistrict Lions Club.
