IN PREPARATION for the digital television switch-over next year, Scarborough Borough Council (SBC) is offering a free electrical recycling service to all residents.
SBC, in partnership with RB Markets, will collect and recycle old televisions from residents for free and for the first time is offering the same service to local guest houses, hotels and other business.
Recycling and waste enforcement manager at SBC, Harry Briggs, said: “It has never been easier for businesses and residents to recycle anything electrical, you can book a collection online or over the phone.
“So if you’ve treated yourself to a new TV, don’t keep the old one to gather dust, let us recycle it for you for free.”
