THE Great North Air Ambulance was called to Dalby Forest recently to assist with the recovery of a woman who had severely injured herself while playing in a stream.

A 22-year-old woman had fallen while playing in the river on 10 August and suffered spinal and leg injuries.

The air ambulance was called to assist Yorkshire Ambulance paramedics who had treated the victim at the scene.

She was airlifted to James Cook University Hospital in just 11 minutes, where she was reported as being in a stable condition.
