St Heddas’ School Christmas play finally went ahead after it had been postponed due to poor weather.

The whole school was involved with a production of Mary Poppins, performed twice last week.

Headteacher Mari Palmer said: “It went really well, I think all the children enjoyed it.

“They were singing away and it went down very well with the parents.”

The original production was postponed before Christmas due to the snowy weather, but with every child involved and a huge amount of preparation done, the school decided to reschedule the performance.

Mrs Palmer added: “The whole school was involved and everybody had a line.

“We always do quite a big production and it’s good because they are all in it, big or small, and the older ones have done really well.”

The performance was directed by teacher Leanne Evans and all the costumes were produced by Ann Baker.

Special thanks went to Steve Maltby of Caedmon School who played the accompanying music.
