Manager Hazel Parkyn and sales assistant Laura Jackson spotted that some items had gone missing and confronted the women, who gave up all but one of the items they had hidden in their pockets.

Although the women initially took £2,000 worth of jewellery, they only escaped with one £30 silver necklace thanks to the brave efforts of the two store staff.

Anyone who may have any information relating to the theft is urged to contact Melanie Smith by calling 101 and selecting option 2 and quoting reference number 12120160863.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
