Chief constable and deputy bailed

FOLLOWING their arrest on suspicion of misconduct in a public office, Cleveland Police’s chief constable and his deputy have been released on bail until a date in October.

Chief constable Sean Price and deputy Derek Bonnard were arrested on 3 August and suspended from their positions as part of an investigation into fraud and corruption.

A third person arrested, Caroline Llewellyn, Cleveland Police’s former head of legal services was also released on bail until October.
