Cars targeted by thieves

TWO cars both parked up near the Maybeck trail at Sneaton were broken into in two separate incidents on Sunday evening.

The first one was a Vauxhall Astra which had the nearside front window smashed and a handbag taken which had been placed under the passenger seat.

It contained a Pandora charm bracelet worth £160, a purse containing £45 and other items.

In the second incident a Ford Fiesta was targeted by smashing the window and a bag also under the seat was taken.

It contained £8 in cash, £80 worth of food and make up valued at £15.

Sgt Ian Donald said: “I would urge people not to leave valuables in cars. Thieves know where people hide things in cars so either don’t take them at all or carry them with you.”
