A Hawsker man has this afternoon pleaded not guilty to allegations of attempted murder.
Michael Turford, 31, appeared at York Crown Court to enter the not guilty plea after being charged with attempted murder, possession of a knife and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The allegations relate to an incident at the Hare and Hounds pub in Hawsker on April 20 this year.
Turford is alleged to have been involved in a brawl with another man, following an earlier altercation at York House Caravan Site which saw the High Hawsker resident being asked to leave the camp site’s bar area.
In the aftermath of the incident, police said a Derbyshire man who was holidaying in the area underwent emergency surgery at James Cook University Hospital after suffering stab wounds.
Turford will now appear for trial on January 12 next year and has been granted conditional bail until that time.
