THE WINNER of the Co-operative Funeralcare and Kristy’s salon Mother’s Day competition was announced last week.

Wendy Partner, of St Hilda’s Court, was nominated by her sons Jack (6) and Andrew (8) and received a complementary spa session at Kristy’s on behalf of Co-operative funeralcare.

Wendy said: “I’m delighted and it was a big shock to get the phone call saying I’d won because I was surprised when they nominated me.

“I’m going to take some time off when the kids are at school.”

Co-operative Funeralcare’s Dawn Hodgson said: “Thanks to everyone who entered.

“We were impressed by the standard of entries and we were very impressed by what Jack and Andrew wrote about their mum.”

Salon owner Kristy McGovern said: “Congratulations to Wendy, and we look forward to seeing her in the day spa soon!”

Mrs Partner won the star prize of a three-hour spa package worth £82 that includes hot tub use, an Elemis face and body sensation session and a mini-manicure.

The prize also includes morning coffee and sparkling wine on arrival or afternoon coffee at the end of the package.
