WHITBY and District Motor Club is planning a social evening following the success of the Ruby anniversary celebrations.
It is open to members past and present and people are encouraged to bring memorabilia linked to the club.
The social evening is being held at Whitby Rugby Club on Friday 17 June and anyone wishing to attend should contact club chairman Dave Scrimgour or Martin Cockerill whose details can be found via www.whitbydmc.co.uk
Whitby and District Motor Club has been meeting since 1969 and two years ago celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Meanwhile, stunt driver and seven-time British motor sports champion, Paul Swift, is to make an appearance at the club’s meeting on 20 June which will be at Chris Birbeck’s rally school in Brotton.
Swift, originally from Darlington, began his competitive motor sport career at the tender age of 16 and has since appeared several times on the Top Gear and won over 40 national events as well as holding onto seven national titles.
