THE UK’s largest charity for deaf and hard of hearing people is calling on swimming enthusiasts in Whitby to compete in the Great North Swim on their behalf.
The event is a one mile swim across open water in Lake Windermere on 18 and 19 June and is behind held to raise funds for the RNID which will go into research on hearing loss and tinnitus, and to help support people who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Prospective entrants have until the end of May to register, places are limited and allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Entry is £35 and the RNID are looking for a fund-raising pledge of £165.
