MEMBERS of a group, association or club who book talks from different speakers throughout the year are being invited to contact cancer charity Macmillan.

Sally Millington, fund-raising manager for Macmillan, is inviting groups to request a talk by the fund-raising team.

She said: “Macmillan has been making a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer since 1911.

“Most people know of the Macmillan Nurses and the wonderful support that they give to people who are affected by cancer, but there is so much more to the help that Macmillan can offer, and the way in which we fund our services that people could get involved with.

“One in three of us will get cancer. 2 million of us are living with it. We want to reach everyone who is affected by cancer.

“One of the ways that we can do this is by giving talks in communities and letting people know the different ways that we can help, not just the person living with cancer, but carers, family, friends, and colleagues.

“You can also find out a bit about the history of the charity as it celebrates its 100th birthday this year. Whatever group you belong to, we would love to hear from you and arrange a visit.”

Anyone who would like to book a talk to find out more about the work of the charity is asked to call Sally on (01904) 756404, or email smillington@macmillan.org.uk.
