Cancer coffee morning grand total
OVER £5,200 was raised across Whitby for Macmillan Cancer Support during last year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Twenty separate events supported the charity and Sally Millington, fund-raising manager, said: “Thank you so much to everyone in Whitby who put on the kettle and got involved.
“The amount that has been raised is truly magnificent and will make a really big difference.”
The date set for this year’s coffee morning is 28 September and events can be registered at www.macmillan.org/coffee
Macmillan are calling for anyone who’s resolution for the new year was to get fit, to use the goal of raising funds as motivation.
Sally added: “January is traditionally a time when many people decide it’s time to get fit but despite good intentions it can be difficult on the dark mornings and nights to get motivated and stay motivated.
“A good way to stay focussed is to sign up to be a part of an organised event, and why not ask for sponsorship for all your hard work?
“There are so many different events happening across the region for all sorts of different activities and we would love people to join Macmillan and help us raise money for people who are affected by cancer.”
