YORKSHIRE Building Society - the only remaining buidling society in Whitby - is re-affirming its commitment to the town with an exclusive event hosted by its chief executive.
The closure of Nationwide at the end of the year made the Yorkshire the area’s sole mutual and the society believes it is important to show that branches are firmly at its heart, delivering a valuable service to members.
Members and non-members alike have been invited to the event hosted by Iain Cornish to learn more about the wociety, share their views and ask questions on any aspect of the society’s business.
The event will take place on Monday (31 January).
Mr Cornish said: “We’re very involved with our members and often hold events to hear their views.
“But as we’re now the last building society in Whitby, we wanted to extend our invitation to non-members too so everyone can have the chance to hear how committed we are to remaining in the town.
“We’ve been part of Whitby life for over 30 years and we intend to remain part of it for many years more.”
The event, at Cross Butts Farm Stables Restaurant was fully booked at the time of going to press.
