Tourism bosses are hoping to put a spring in the step of tourists with a new campaign which heavily features Whitby.
Welcome to Yorkshire has teamed up with English Heritage to create a new guide to spring across Yorkshire and it coincides with the launch of a major new event at Whitby Abbey, called The Path to Paradise.
The campaign features a detailed pocket guide highlighting places to visit and things to do right across the county. Themes include family, outdoors, cycling, events, heritage, coast, food and museums.
Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “We have kickstarted the tourism season with this guide, which will help put Yorkshire front of mind for visitors across Yorkshire and beyond.
“Now the snow is behind us, the county is bursting into life with the arrival of pring proper and we hope this campaign will help inspire people to return to a favourite spot or find somewhere new.”
The campaign coincides with the launch of The Path to Paradise, which runs from May 25 to June 2 and gives visitors the opportunity to walk through a medieval labyrinth.
