A LITTLE Grosmont club, based in the former storage area of the shop next door, has been declared Pub of the Season 2012 by the organisation which champions real ale.
Members of the Cleveland CAMRA Group have announced that the Grosmont Crossing Club has been their favourite destination this summer.
Crossing Club committee member Peter Proud said: “Members of the Cleveland CAMRA Group, who have been regular visitors down the years, made a number of visits during this summer, including attending the ‘700 different real ales since opening’ celebration in July.
“The club was delighted to subsequently learn that based on the selection and quality of real ales on offer it had been voted Cleveland CAMRA Pub of the Season, Summer 2012.”
Grosmont Crossing Club opened in 1999 and is based in premises leased from the Grosmon Co-Operative Society, utilising a former storage area and loading bay.
The presentation of a framed certificate will be made on Sunday between 2pm and 6pm. At the event members will also raise their glasses in a toast to Kevin Paddison of Black Sheep Brewery for his contribution to the club.
The Crossing Club is open each evening from 8pm-11pm.
