THE Whitby Gazette will be re-launching in the new year as a once-weekly newspaper.
Your Friday favourite will become a bumper issue as we prepare to bid farewell to the Tuesday edition which was launched 11 years ago.
The new Friday edition will still feature the latest news and sport round-up, letters and offers.
But in addition, there will be an extended Down Your Way section, a What’s On pullout, new sports columns, plus the regular features like In the Hotseat, the Farming Review, a new Fishing Review, A Stroll with Stuart and Around the Garden.
The decision to revert back to the one edition is as a result of feedback from regular readers of the Whitby Gazette.
On Tuesday, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm, the Gazette offices will be open for people to come in and have a look at an example of what your new look Whitby Gazette will look like.
People will have the opportunity to have an informal chat with editorial and advertising staff and pass on any constructive comments about the new edition and any ideas they may have.
Editor Jon Stokoe said: “These are exciting times but we want to make sure we consult with local people accordingly.”
