Hundreds gathered at a Whitby shipyard on Saturday to witness the official unveiling of the biggest trawler to be built in the UK for years.
Our Lass III has been commissioned by the Locker family and will be skippered by James Locker with her first fishing expedition expected to be within a month.
It may have taken two goes but his wife Dana did the traditional honours by breaking a bottle of bubbly over the boat watched by their three daughters.
After the naming and blessing of the boat James told the Gazette: “It is everything we asked Parkol for and I am over the moon with my wife naming the boat with my girls stood there.”
