A well-known Whitby funeral director is handing over the running of the business to the next generation of his family.

After running John Corner Funeral Service for the past 37 years, John and Edith Corner officially retired in April this year and have handed the business over to their daughter Wendy Robinson and her husband Kevin.

They will be assisted by Kevin’s brother Chris Robinson.

Wendy has been part of the business for over 20 years and Kevin for more than 10 years.

Both have plenty of experience in the business between them and say they will continue running it with the same care and dignity as they have done for the past few years.

Wendy said: “The business is a local independent family run firm which has been built up on trust and recommendation and we pride ourselves in giving each family the highest standard of service at all times.

“Our main priority is that everything runs smoothly for the family with us giving as much help and guidance to make things as stress free as possible.”

John Corner Funeral Service offers a range of complete burial and cremation services, placing of newspaper announcements, floral tributes, funeral teas, handling of donations, memorial brochures through Scott Memorials, funeral plans through Golden Charter and no obligation quotations.
