Chelsea O’Brien and Jade Bedford from Kristy’s beauty salon in Whitby are competing in the International Manicurist of the Year Awards on Sunday.
Company partner Erica Legg said: “Jade and Chelsea are very calm, relaxed nail technicians which will stand them in good stead during the competition against over 400 nail technicians.”
The Spa Manicure competition includes nail-shaping, soaking, cuticle work, exfoliation, massage and the use of hot oil or paraffin wax- they need to paint one hand with red polish and the other with a French finish during the 75-minute treatment. They’re also entered in the Permanent Polish category, with 60 minutes to paint one hand with red cream polish- 3 fingers with French polish and 2 with art designs.
Jade said: “We enjoy working with clients’ colour schemes for special occasions so the permanent polish competition is what I’m looking forward to the most”
