September was ‘fund-raising month’ at the Mallyan Spout in Goathland.
The hotel supports two charities, The Great North Air Ambulance and Macmillan Cancer Support. Last month barman Colin Jackson drove his vintage Rover car to Scotland and back, raising over £2,000.
Hotel director Stuart Knight his daughters Stephanie and Sophie also took part in the Great North Run. Stuart said: “It is very humbling to see all the runners doing their bit, especially the disabled runners and of course our amazing ex-servicemen and women.” Again the total raised was over £2,000.
To complete the hat-trick of fund-raises, a Macmillan Coffee Morning was held at the hotel on the 27th. The hotel’s Kathryn Watson said the event raised over £600 and added: “The Mallyan as a whole, staff, owners and customers are very proud to support these charities and will continue to do so throughout the years to come.”
