Date set for potash mine decision

Planners from the North York Moors National Park have set a date for making a decision as to whether a potash mine can be built at Sneatonthorpe.

A special meeting will be held on 30 June and deliberations will continue into the following day if required and a conclusion can’t be reached on day one.

Plans for the mine on the former Dove’s Nest Farm were first submitted in 2013 and re-drafted several times to address issues raised by statutory bodies and objectors.
