Welcome to Yorkshire has produced a new series of television adverts urging people to visit Yorkshire.
The new commercials have adopted the slogan “So much, so near, so different.
“Have a brilliant Yorkshire,” and show a variety of activities and locations in the area.
Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive Gary Verity said: “Building on our previous award-winning campaigns, we’re broadcasting a brand new TV advertisement into homes across the UK.”
The adverts will be broadcast with sponsorship during The Paul O’Grady Show, The Royal and Do The Funniest Things, to appeal to a variety of audiences.
Mr Verity added: “The TV promotions aim to target the family market because we know that once people visit Yorkshire, they fall in love with our marvellous county and become repeat visitors in the long term.”
After last year’s campaign, entitled “A long weekend in Yorkshire”, won Europe’s leading marketing campaign at the world travel awards, organisers are aiming to improve upon the success of the 2010 adverts.
The campaign had viewing figures, including 2.4 million people seeing the cinema adverts alone.
Mr Verity said that this years adverts were intended to show people “how much there is to do in Yorkshire.”
The new advertising campaigns were announced at the Y11 tourism conference, which was claimed to be the biggest event of it’s kind in the country.
It was also announced that new measures would be taken to ensure that Yorkshire would benefit strongly from the 2012 Olympic games.
