In 1890 the village of Peak was sold to the Peak Estate Company with the intention to develop a holiday resort to rival Scarborough. In 1897 the village's name changed to Ravenscar and building plots began to be sold at auction. In preparation for the development a network of roads were built, however, the response to the holiday town was not good and in 1911, the Ravenscar Estate Company went bankrupt.

A pair of aspiring actresses are being sought for a new thriller based in Ravenscar.

The film is a dark psychological thriller set in 1930 and will be a low-budget feature film and will be written and directed by Andrew Davies, who produced a short film on the Legend of Beggar Bridge in 2010. Filming is set to begin in April on the six-week shoot, but before that takes place there is the small matter of finding a cast. Any actresses who are interested should contact Andrew by emailing eboracumpictures@live.com
