BOMB disposal experts were this morning (Thurs) examining a device which had been washed up on the beach.
It was spotted by a member of the public yesterday morning near Upgang Ravine and reported to the coastguard.
Because of the marine growth on the object, coastguards could not determine what it was and at low tide yesterday, were making further investigations.
A coastguard spokesperson said: “We have some pictures and it could be a number of things but it is very rusty.
“We are keeping an open mind and there is no immediate danger to anybody.”
