Whitby Town Football Club hope their upcoming summer music festival will provide a much-needed boost to the coffers.

The club is set to host the Coastline Festival on August 6 at the Stables at Cross Butts.

The day will see a variety of music acts perform, including chart-topping icons 10cc and The Real Thing.

Blues chairman Graham Manser hopes that the day will not only bring joy to those in attendance, but also a welcome shot in the arm for the club’s future.

He said: “We aim to make this day really special and raise plenty of funds for the club.

“Where we are situated makes it very difficult for us in terms of costing with extensive journeys most weeks.

“The bills still come in on a daily basis between now and the start of the new season and staff still need paying even though there is no turnstile money coming into the club during the summer.

“Therefore, we want to make the music festival very memorable.”
